Q.If the cost of 1 sq m of a plot of land is Rs.900, find the cost of a plot of land that is 25m long and 20m broad.

Solution:

Given: length = 25 m

          breadth = 20 m

To find the cost of a plot of land,

first , we need to know the AREA

∴area of a plot of land = length X breadth 

                                     = 25 X 20

                                     = 500 

 Total area of a plot of land= 500 sq m

the cost of 1 sq m of a plot of land is Rs.900,

∴cost of 500 sq m plot = 500 X 900

                                      = 450000

                                      =Rs.4,50,000

Answer: The cost of a plot of land is Rs.4,50,000
